The S(ex) Tapes – FLETCHER

I have a type. I hate to admit it but I do. I hate to admit it because my type more often than not is synonymous with "potentially dangerous and I risk considerable damage but I love the high and I'm certain I won't die". My type makes me FEEL.

Which makes Fletcher's latest project, a 7 track EP, exactly my type.

She's intense, intriguing, and oh so damn good at evoking such a sweet adrenaline rush. That is basically me hooked. (I'm blaming this facet of my personality on having both a Cancer sun and moon.)

Firstly, let me confirm. This EP? 100% no skips.

The S(ex) Tapes is 22 minutes of pure ecstasy. 7 tracks of production perfection, with stunning sultry vocals to match. Considering the content depicts a romantic break-up (the kind that gets DRAGGED out for the longest because the two exist in this purgatory–like medium where they cannot seem to get enough of each other while simultaneously not getting enough space from each other, I know I know, it's a crazy toxic cycle that isn't healthy for anyone involved, leave us alone we're clearly masochists), the tracks are very much upbeat and bops that will have you busting out a few dance moves at very least, or doing up a whole Oscar worthy performance at most.

I usually pick my top favourites but here I would have to list all 7 tracks. I have a feeling these are going to be on repeat for a while...

Also, the artwork has been beautifully shot. I love the black and white Calvin Klein inspired aesthetic. So not only am I in awe of the music and writing, I'm also wishing someone would let me shoot a similar photo series. I love the pure carnal energy.

As always, I've added the EP to my #September2020 playlist which you can find here :)

Happy listening!
