I’m listening to: Santino Le Saint

Admittedly, I only came across him earlier this month. I was on IG quickly one evening, clicked into GUAP Magazine’s livestream to find this young dude playing an electric guitar and singing. Loved his tone of voice so I stayed to listen to him finish a cover.

"Talented guy" I thought to myself. He looked so happy to be on the live sharing music. There was this very low-key charming demeanour to him. Humble too, repeatedly thanking the viewers for tuning in.

Turns out I had tuned in right at the end. Short but sweet. I was now intrigued… who is this guy?

Off I went to find his IG and Twitter profiles…

𝕾𝖆𝖓𝖙𝖎𝖓𝖔 𝕷𝖊 𝕾𝖆𝖎𝖓𝖙.

That’s the name. You'll hear it again, I'm sure of it.

His pinned tweet at the time was a short video with a lyric.

“I bet when you bite it stings like Cyanide”

That line alone deserves a click. Poison disguised as love? Did a name just pop up in your head? I’m intrigued AGAIN.

Back to his Twitter bio I go as I vaguely remember seeing an album title.

Rage of Angels.

R&B/Soul. Released 2020.

That sounds like a Steph vibe...

And what a whole VIBE that album is. Think soulful vocals. Hypnotizing synths. Beautiful guitar riffs and solos. R&B with rock infiltrations. Sonic catharsis. Immediate add to my April 2020 playlist.

Santino Le Saint is now officially on my radar.

So yesterday I was scrolling through Twitter and see Le Saint has dropped a video for “Unholy”.

“I’m unholy. Like if I sat down with God he wouldn’t know me”

One of my favourites on the album.

Bro.

The visuals.

VISUAL CATHARSIS.

And then darkness meeting light at the end? Love it.

All in all, I think Santino Le Saint is a promising artist and I’ve got no reason to believe he won’t continue to deliver excellence. I’m excited to see his profile grow.

Check out “Unholy” below.
