It’s definitely my Taurus rising that paints a picture perfect pseudo-reality. Stable, grounded, secure – everything my rest of chart isn’t. These months have been hard. Spotify wrapped has told me (quite kindly) that I have listened to Brené Brown for 7,540 minutes this year.
That’s over 125 hours of emotions, experiences, courage, connection, and vulnerability. It’s a deep dive into the magic and messiness of what it means to be human, our meaning and purpose in this life, on this Earth, and with eachother. In other words – I have been going through it.
And that is the reason there’s no October post, and just about a November post. It’s also why you may see the new TV & sofa set up, the candles and AirPods, the Adidas fits (sorry Nike– your tragic customer service last month lost me), £30 trims every 3 weeks and while this is all nice and I won’t lie, makes life infinitely better, alone it’s pretty much just that. It’s nice. It beats crying in poorzania. It’s giving cry, but make it fashion, but also don’t cry outside your room or in the presence of basically anyone. Ah… to be a water sun sign and Earth rising.
So yes, in summary– I’ve been tremendously fortunate recently. Gratitude is a daily practice. I am very, very fortunate to work where I do, and live where I do. But I am also human. I get pissed off at my friends, I berate myself for drinking.I still sit and wonder why me when I didn’t deserve pain that’s been inflicted on me. But then, I listen to Brene Brown and the wonderful people she speaks to. I’m schooled by teachable moments and then I’m reminded why me. If not me, then who? If not me, my kids will be fighting the exact same battles, and resent me for the exact same reasons I resent family. I won't propagate calamity, and that's why me.
On lighter notes, as I never leave you without some lovin’, here are a few things that have touched my soul these last few weeks:
1. ‘Dopesick’ on Disney+
2. Maid on Netflix
3. Tesco’s Fig and Mulberry candles
4. Halloween at Paulton’s Park
5. Warm borg jackets
6. Festive Christmas trees with snow and lights
Catch you soon,
S.
